Hydroponics is a branch of horticulture, which is a method
of growing plants without soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in a water
solvent. Terrestrial plants may be grown with only their roots exposed to the
mineral solution. The roots may be supported by an inert medium, such as coco-peat
or rock-wool.
The nutrients used in hydroponic systems can come from various
sources. These include, but are not limited to, byproduct from fish waste, duck
manure, or purchased mineral salts.
